Let's chat to see if I'm the right doula for you

Birth is holy ground—where surrender becomes strength and motherhood is born.

Sadly, a peaceful, worshipful birth DOESN’T just happen by chance. It's often in contrast to the fear-driven narrative pushed by our medical systems and society.

But culture has it wrong. Birth was designed by God to work beautifully and intelligently. Yet time and again, people interrupt that intuitive process.

In fact, birth was never meant to be micromanaged… confined to a bed, rushed with Pitocin, or controlled through constant checks and procedures. Once one intervention begins, it often leads to another, and before you know it, a woman finds herself on the other side with a long, difficult, and sometimes traumatic story. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

The way you give birth has a lasting ripple effect on your postpartum healing, your confidence as a mother, and even your baby’s nervous system.

You deserve to have a birth that is not only safe but empowering—one where you trust your body, experience peace, and embrace your journey into motherhood with confidence.

You were created for a birth rooted in PEACE and SURRENDER, but culture teaches out of fear.

That’s where your doula can help reclaim what’s yours.

In the midst of labor, it can be challenging to stand up for yourself. That’s why having a doula by your side to AMPLIFY YOUR VOICE is crucial in today’s medical landscape.

Whether you’re a first-time mom or planning a VBAC after two C-sections, every woman deserves emotional and physical support. You need not just someone who knows you but also someone who understands and respects the birth process.

Your birth experience should be empowering, and the right support can make all the difference.

Don’t just take my word for it! Here’s what my clients have to say about their experiences:

  • I’m here for you every step of the way! You can text or call me with your questions, or concerns, or just to chat about how you’re feeling. Whether it’s something your provider said or you just need reassurance, I’ll provide guidance and resources so you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m a huge voice message person, so you can anticipate messaging back and forth just like we’ve been long lost friends.

  • Two different times, we’ll meet in your home to talk through your hopes, goals, and any concerns for your birth.

You can ask me questions, and we will even write a birth plan together!

I’ll help you and your partner prepare with resources and information so you feel confident and ready for your baby’s big day by doing some practice positions together and stretches/exercises to prepare your body!

  • I provide evidence-based information and practical tips for a healthy pregnancy. While I’m not a certified nutritionist, I'm SUPER passionate about minerals, protein, and mainly just supporting our body with food!

I’ll give you non-medical tips, resources, and referrals to help you stay low-risk in pregnancy, and make the best choices for you and your baby.

  • Once we’re in the final weeks, I’ll be available 24/7, ready to come by your side no matter the time of day.

  • When labor begins, I’ll be there for you and your partner to provide comfort, reassurance, and help you feel seen and supported.

I’ll bring candles, essential oils, music, fairy lights, a heating pad, and a calm, grounding presence to help create a peaceful and empowering environment. Whether you need quiet encouragement, hands-on support, or suggestions for labor positions, I’ll show up however you need.

As a Christian, I believe birth is a deeply spiritual experience. If you share that belief, I’ll be there not just as your doula, but as a prayerful presence, pointing you toward Him and standing in faith with you as you bring your baby into the world.

  • I can capture those special moments during labor and birth with my iPhone, giving you keepsakes to cherish forever.

  • After your baby arrives, I’ll come to your home to check in, debrief your birth, and offer guidance on breastfeeding, recovery, and adjusting to life with your little one.

During the first few weeks, I’ll be available by text or call to answer questions about feeding, sleep, or anything else that comes up as you settle into this new chapter.

  • Everything I do is because I love the Lord! I am passionate about bringing the Holy Spirit into the birth! A heart of gratitude and worship in birth gives space for heaven to touch down in the most supernatural way. Whether or not it’s out loud, I will be praying for you your whole pregnancy and birth journey and welcome the Holy Spirit into your birth!

I’m Karissa!

Karissa is a birth doula in PA who teaches in-home Childbirth Classes.

I am a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator with a deep passion for physiological, Spirit-led birth. To me, birth is more than a medical event; it’s a sacred gift from God, designed to be honored and protected.

I believe birth unfolds best when it is undisturbed and when mothers feel supported emotionally, spiritually, and practically. My role is to help you prepare in all of these areas so you can enter labor with peace, confidence, and connection to both your body and the Lord.

I’ve supported over 100 women through birth, many of whom chose unmedicated paths, and I’ve witnessed how powerful and transformative birth can be when it’s approached with reverence and trust. Because I hold this work as sacred, I am very intentional and passionate about the families I serve.

I’d love to connect face-to-face and see if we’re the right fit.

FAQs

  • When you hire me as your doula, you’re not just paying for my presence at your birth—you’re investing in years of experience, over 100 births attended, and the heart, prayer, time, and energy I pour into every woman and family I support.

Birth work is sacred, but it’s also demanding. Being on-call 24/7 means rearranging life at a moment’s notice and holding space for deeply emotional moments. This work is intense, immersive, and incredibly personal—and I do it because I believe your birth matters.

I also believe in being fully transparent about where your investment goes. Here's how I’ve broken down my pricing for my $1,600 package:

    • Text, voice message, & call support throughout pregnancy and postpartum (average 3–6 hrs): $50

    • In-home prenatal + postpartum visits (3-4 visits is 5-8 hrs tota)l: $150

    • Labor and Delivery support (based on the average 12 hr labor at $30/hr, but I will stay longer as needed): $360

    • On-call time (37–42 weeks is 5 weeks at $50/week): $250

    • Travel time + gas (average 4 hrs driving): $100

    • Business overhead (birth gear, continued education, insurance, website, client gifts, etc.): $258

    • Taxes (approx 27% of each package goes straight to taxes): $432

    • BONUS: Access to my client vault, which is 40+ topics with links and resources, so you can be educated + my library (books you can borrow to read)

    • BONUS: Lifetime Access to my Birth Tide Community, which involves regular meetups with women in the same stage of life as you

After my overhead costs, my net take-home pay per contracted client is $910.

If a backup doula attends the birth for me, I pay her $800.

  • I only schedule a 3-4 moms every month, so its rare for this to happen. Even if I try to schedule things perfectly, one baby may want to come 2 weeks late, and the other one 3 weeks early.

So, the answer is, I work with a backup doula.

I work with a couple of Christian doulas who are also my dear friends. If I would suddenly get sick, have a family emergency, be at another birth, or need to leave town for something, you would be in GREAT hands.

  • It is important that you feel safe wherever you give birth. So if that is at home, I will support you at home! If that is in the hospital, I will support you in the hospital (although I am moving more and more towards homebirths).

Hospitals I’ve worked in: Women and Babies in Lancaster, UPMC Magees in Harrisburg, UPMC Magees in Lititz, York Wellspan Hospital, Ephrata Wellspan Hospital, Good Sam Wellspan Hospital, Reading Tower of Health, Penn State Hershey Medical, Penn State St Joseph's, Main Line Paoli Hospital, Chester Community Hospital, Lankenau Medical Center, and Katz Women's Hospital in New York.

The 2 hospitals I personally recommend for women wanting a low-intervention, unmedicated birth: UPMC Lititz and Reading Tower Health

Local Birth Center Options: Reading Midwifery Center, Lebanon Valley Birth Center, Balanced Essentials Midwifery Clinic and New Babi.

Homebirths: I've worked with quite a few homebirth midwives in this area, too!! (I used to work as a midwife assistant, and during that time, I was attending 4-5 home births a month as an assistant).

  • I will still 100% support you and go along with you!

I will be there to help explain to you and your partner what is happening so that you both feel informed and less afraid.

I believe homebirth is normally a safe and beautiful place to have your baby, but I also believe that it’s not homebirth at any cost.

I will stay right by your side through the whole process to help the transfer feel as calm and peaceful as possible.

  • Yes!! Many! I even have supported several VB2Cs!! (Vaginal Birth After 2 C-section)

I love supporting VBAC mams and support both homebirth and hospital birth VBACs.

  • Whether your C-section is planned or unplanned, I am here to support you. I spell this all out in the contract which I will provide for you after our consultation call:

    • If an unplanned or emergency C-section occurs after I have already provided support to you in labor, no refund will be issued.

    • If your C-section is planned and you would like me to support you in the operating room or at the hospital, I will be there for you, and no refund will be given.

    • However, if your C-section is last planned and you choose not to have me at the hospital, you will receive either a $400 refund or 6 hours of daytime postpartum doula/mother’s helper support.

My goal is to ensure you feel supported and empowered, no matter how your birth unfolds.
